Dehradun, July 31
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, at Kamboj Dharamshala in Gadarpur, offered floral tributes at the statue of Shaheed Udham Singh on his martyrdom day. He also participated in the Akhand Path and bowed at the Gurudwara, praying for the prosperity of the state.
Saluting Guru Sahib and Shaheed Udham Singh, the Chief Minister said the event was a remarkable blend of valour and sanctity. He noted that remembering the sacrifice, courage, and patriotism of Shaheed Udham Singh fills every Indian with pride. Referring to the Jallianwala Bagh massacre as a tragic and dark chapter of Indian history, he emphasized that Udham Singh avenged that injustice and showcased India’s dignity, courage, and indomitable resolve to the world.
Dhami added that Udham Singh’s life inspires courage, self-respect, patriotism, and sacrifice, instilling devotion to the nation in every heart. The Chief Minister highlighted that the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib Ji guide humanity with compassion, truth, brotherhood, and selfless service, inspiring the entire nation.
Acknowledging the significant contribution of the Sikh community to Uttarakhand’s development, he urged everyone to keep Shaheed Udham Singh’s ideals alive in their hearts and follow his path to contribute to nation-building.
