Information Department declares Saturdays as ‘No Vehicle Day’ to boost energy conservation

In line with government directives to promote energy conservation and prudent use of resources, Director General of Information, Banshidhar Tiwari, has issued instructions to observe every Saturday as “No Vehicle Day” in the Information Department.

The Director General appealed to departmental officers and employees to adopt alternatives such as public transport and bicycles for commuting to the office on Saturdays. He emphasized that small efforts, when taken collectively, can lead to significant positive change and strengthen the national campaign for energy conservation.

Bhagat further stated that by adopting this initiative, the department will set a positive example for society. Through “No Vehicle Day,” not only will fuel be saved, but carbon emissions will also be reduced, thereby ensuring a meaningful contribution to environmental protection.
