Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal has said that the Aam Aadmi Party and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann have unleashed repression against independent journalists and activists who are consistently exposing their anti-Punjabi face. In a p;ost on X, Sukhbir wrote, “The registration of a false and trumped up case against RTI activist Manik Goyal, journalists Mintu Gurusaria of iWorld TV & Maninderjit Sidhu of Lok Awaz TV is a desperate attempt to muzzle the voice of the independent media and hide the failures of the AAP Punjab government. It is clear that all this is being done at the behest of the AAP Delhi high command as Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia realise that their real face stands exposed and Punjabis are getting ready to throw them out of power. The Shiromani Akali Dal condemns this undeclared Emergency. We stand in solidarity with the affected journalists and the RTI activist and demand immediate withdrawal of this malicious FIR.”
