Chandigarh, May 26
Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring tonight visited DMC Hospital, Ludhiana, to meet Congress candidate from Ward Number 4, Raikot, Jagdev Singh Jagga, who was critically injured in an attack earlier today.
Warring met the family members and doctors to enquire about Jagdev Singh Jagga’s health condition and assured the family of full support during this difficult time.
Expressing deep concern over the incident and the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab, Raja Warring strongly condemned the attack and demanded immediate and strict action against those responsible.
Speaking on the incident, Warring said, “Any attack on my Congress worker is like an attack on my family. The brutal attack on Jagdev Singh Jagga is deeply disturbing and unacceptable. Violence has no place in democracy. Those responsible must be identified and brought to justice immediately. Punjab cannot be allowed to function through fear and intimidation.”
Meanwhile, condemning the alleged violence during the municipal polls today, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president and Ludhiana MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has demanded immediate action against all those involved in the violence. In a post on X, Warring wrote, “The violence, intimidation and pressure tactics being witnessed across Punjab during these elections are deeply shameful and completely unacceptable in a democracy. I strongly demand strict action against every person involved in these attacks and acts of lawlessness, irrespective of political affiliation. Bhagwant Mann must answer why Punjab is being pushed towards political hooliganism and an atmosphere of fear. When people start rejecting AAP, they resort to intimidation instead of accountability. Punjab is watching everything. The people of Punjab will give a strong democratic reply in 2027.”
