Chandigarh, May 27
The Sirsa MP, Congress Working Committee (CWC) Member, AICC General Secretary and Former Union Minister Kumari Selja criticised the BJP-led central government over alleged irregularities in the CBSE examination system, claiming that the future of the country’s youth had become increasingly insecure. Selja said that after incidents of paper leaks and recruitment scams, serious questions were now being raised over the evaluation of answer sheets in the CBSE examination process.
Referring to media reports, the Congress leader claimed that more than four lakh students had sought over 11 lakh scanned copies of answer sheets. Selja alleged that several students complained of blurred answer sheets being evaluated, missing pages and, in some cases, incorrect copies being uploaded. She said these incidents clearly indicate serious negligence in the examination system, leaving students uncertain about their own future. She further alleged that the country’s youth were living under constant mental pressure due to unemployment and administrative failures.
According to Selja, students were facing difficulties at every stage despite working hard academically. The youth studying today are struggling to secure jobs while the government remains busy delivering speeches,” she said, adding that young people were facing an unprecedented level of distress and uncertainty. Selja termed the issue not merely an administrative lapse but “an attack on the dreams of crores of students”. She said if students could no longer trust their answer sheets and examination results, it raised serious concerns about the credibility of the education system.
Selja alleged that the BJP government had completely failed on education and employment issues and demanded an impartial inquiry into the CBSE examination system. She also urged the Centre to address students’ complaints immediately, ensure transparency in recruitment processes and create more employment opportunities to restore the confidence of the youth.
