Chandigarh, June 5
Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today condemned the brutal and barbaric use of force against the 2600 ITI qualified candidates who were demanding jobs in Patiala today. “Remember, these are the signs and symptoms of an imminent doom of the government which is staring at its face as its days are numbered now”, he remarked.
In a strong reaction to the brutal lathicharge, Warring said, the images and visuals of the police unleashing brute force against the peaceful protestors were horrible and bone chilling. “It reminds of the British era police beating up our freedom fighters”, he said, while expressing shock over the ruthlessness of the police against their own people.
The PCC president said that this will not be forgiven and it was a matter of six months more when everyone will be held to account. “We have the recordings and we have the visuals and we are preserving these”, he warned while saying that the police should be ashamed of resorting to such force against the peaceful unemployed youth.
Warring told the police that they should better use their might to fight against the criminals and gangsters. “You have completely failed in controlling the crime and are instead targeting the innocent people who are seeking jobs”, he told the police.
Warring also had a dig at the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s claims of providing so many jobs. “Today’s brutal lathicharge is a tight slap on the shameless face of this government as it stands exposed”, he remarked, adding, “you have not provided jobs, you have unleashed terror on the jobless”. The PCC president said that the responsibility of today’s brutality lies with the Chief Minister as without his consent the police will not have the audacity to resort to such brute force.
