Chandigarh, June 6
Continuing his engagements in the national capital, newly appointed Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Kewal Singh Dhillon on Saturday called on Union Health Minister and Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha Jagat Prakash Nadda at his residence in New Delhi.
During the meeting, Dhillon thanked Nadda for reposing faith in his leadership by entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the BJP in Punjab. He assured the senior BJP leader that he would work tirelessly to strengthen the party across the state and take its message to every section of society.
Dhillon informed Nadda that the governance model of Maharaja Ranjit Singh continues to be an enduring source of inspiration and an ideal benchmark for Punjab’s future. In line with this vision, he said that he has installed a portrait of Maharaja Ranjit Singh in his office as a symbol of his commitment to the Maharaja’s principles of justice, inclusiveness, secular governance, and public welfare.
The Punjab BJP President also expressed gratitude to Nadda for his significant contribution towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure in Punjab. He particularly thanked him for his personal interest in establishing the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bathinda, whose foundation stone was laid on November 25, 2016, during Nadda’s tenure as Union Health Minister.
Highlighting the healthcare needs of the border region, Dhillon urged Nadda to facilitate the early completion and operationalization of the PGI Satellite Centre at Ferozepur. He said the project would greatly benefit residents of Ferozepur and adjoining districts by providing access to quality tertiary healthcare closer to their homes. Nadda appreciated Dhillon’s vision for Punjab and assured him of all possible support for the state’s development and welfare.
