In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Vocal for Local’, ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Viksit Bharat’, the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, will organize a grand ‘Khadi Employment Festival’ on June 17  at the Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary School campus in Siwani, Bhiwani district, Haryana. The festival will be inaugurated by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. During the program, machines and toolkits will be distributed to beneficiaries under various schemes, and margin money sanction letters will be handed over to selected beneficiaries of the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).

On Saturday, KVIC Chairman Manoj Goyal met the Chief Minister in Chandigarh and extended the first invitation to the event. The Chief Minister gladly accepted and conveyed his best wishes for the successful conduct of the festival. On this occasion, Goyal stated that under the leadership of Saini, remarkable work is being carried out in Haryana for rural development, job creation, women’s empowerment, promotion of cottage industries and encouragement of local products. These sustained efforts are continuously opening new avenues for the economic and social upliftment of rural communities. He recalled that the ‘Khadi Artisans Festival’ held in Rohtak on October 3, 2025, became a celebration of the dignity, pride and resolve of millions of Khadi workers. That event was graced by the guidance of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, while Chief Minister Saini’s dedication and heartfelt leadership left a lasting inspiration. It was then resolved that the next major festival for the honor, employment, and empowerment of Khadi artisans would also be hosted on Haryana’s sacred soil.

Goyal emphasized that the upcoming ‘Khadi Employment Festival’ in Siwani will herald a new era of rural economy, indigenous entrepreneurship and self-reliance through Khadi. The Chief Minister’s esteemed presence will serve as a source of enthusiasm, energy and inspiration for artisans, youth, and rural families from the remote regions of South Haryana. He further informed that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the visionary guidance of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah, the Khadi and Village Industries sector achieved a record turnover of ₹1.87 lakh crore in FY 2025–26. Now, the sector has set an ambitious target of ₹2.51 lakh crore.

Expressing confidence, Goyal said that the ‘Khadi Employment Festival’ will connect people with employment, self-employment, and self-reliance, marking a significant step toward the economic empowerment of rural India and serving as a strong medium to achieve the newly set goals of the Khadi and Village Industries sector.
