Jalandhar, November 7

In an age where festivals are increasingly defined by grand celebrations and dazzling displays, CT Group brought the focus back to the simplicity, warmth and deeper meaning of traditional festivities through a spectacular Deepmala organised on the occasion of Diwali and Bandi Chhor Divas at its Shahpur Campus.

Illuminated by hundreds of earthen diyas, the campus transformed into a beautiful celebration of light, togetherness and positivity. The initiative was a heartfelt reminder that the true essence of festivals lies not merely in how elaborately they are celebrated, but in the happiness they bring, the relationships they strengthen and the light they spread in one another’s lives.

Recreating the charm of traditional celebrations, the Deepmala brought alive the age-old practice of lighting up courtyards, verandas and homes with earthen lamps. It reflected the timeless spirit of Diwali, when families came together to illuminate their surroundings, share happiness and welcome positivity. Through this initiative, CT Group sought to bring back that very warmth, encouraging everyone to celebrate in a way that honours traditions while remaining mindful of the environment.

The celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, Heads of Departments and staff members, with the entire CT family coming together to light diyas and share the festive spirit. What made the occasion particularly special was the collective involvement of the university community, turning the campus into a living reflection of unity, belongingness and shared joy.

The occasion was graced by Harpreet Singh, Vice Chairman, CT Group; Madam Parminder Kaur, Co-Chairperson, CT Group; Advocate Manjinder Kaur, Co-Vice Chairperson, CT Group; and Dr. Jayaashish Sethi, Director Campus, CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus.

The leadership emphasised the importance of preserving the cultural values behind festivals and passing them on to younger generations. The celebration highlighted that the real beauty of Diwali is found in spreading light rather than noise, choosing togetherness over extravagance and making the occasion meaningful for everyone.

The observance also held special significance as Diwali coincided with Bandi Chhor Divas, commemorating the historic release of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji and the 52 kings from Gwalior Fort. The occasion stands as a powerful reminder of freedom, compassion, courage and standing up for the well-being of others.

Through its Deepmala, CT Group reaffirmed that traditions are not simply rituals to be remembered but values to be lived and carried forward. As hundreds of diyas illuminated the campus, the message was clear: the brightest celebrations are those that light up not just our surroundings, but also each other’s lives.
