Considering the year‑on‑year increase in the number of tourists and pilgrims, the state government has intensified efforts to expand basic infrastructure. To ease traffic congestion and make the Char Dham Yatra smoother, work is being carried out on a war footing. The Housing Department of Uttarakhand is focused on developing parking facilities. Over the past four years, the department has constructed parking spaces under 63 projects with a total capacity of 4,202 vehicles. This initiative by the Dhami government has not only provided relief from traffic jams in the hill districts for common people and tourists but also made life easier for local residents.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, special emphasis is being placed on the development of tourist facilities in Uttarakhand. Road, rail, and air connectivity are being expanded. With the growing number of tourists and pilgrims, particular focus has been given to the development of parking facilities. Acting on the Chief Minister’s directives, the Housing Department is working to expand the parking network in major towns, pilgrimage sites, and tourist centers of the hill districts. Depending on the availability of space, surface parking, multi‑level parking, and automated parking structures have been constructed.
