The Bharatiya Janata Party will organise the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ across Punjab with full enthusiasm and vigour from September 17 to October 17, marking the completion of 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s journey of public service. Giving details of the campaign, formulated under the directions of BJP National President Shri Nitin Nabin, Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon said that the Prime Minister’s successful 25-year journey of public service will be completed on October 7, 2026. During this period, BJP workers will reach every village and household with a spirit of service and dedication and spread the message of public service.
Dhillon said that Prime Minister Modi’s journey of public service began in 2001 as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, where he served three consecutive terms as Chief Minister. After becoming the Prime Minister of the country in 2014, this journey expanded to the entire nation. He said that the journey which began with the development of Gujarat is now moving towards the resolve of making India a developed nation by 2047. During this journey, the Central Government has improved the lives of the poor, farmers and needy through numerous initiatives such as Make in India, Digital India, Skill India, Startup India, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala, Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat, Jal Jeevan Mission and Kisan Samman Nidhi.
Highlighting the Centre’s contribution to Punjab’s development and the Sikh community, Dhillon claimed that over the past 12 years, the Modi Government has provided Punjab with more than ₹17 lakh crore for roads, railways, agriculture and infrastructure. He further said that historic steps such as the construction of the Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, celebration of the 550th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the 400th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, the introduction of Veer Bal Diwas, and legal action against those accused in the 1984 anti-Sikh massacre have enhanced the pride of the Sikh community.
Dhillon said that 13 major programmes have been planned during the month-long campaign. The campaign will begin on September 17 with blood donation camps across Punjab, while at 7 PM the same evening, beneficiaries and workers will light an ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ at their homes as a gesture of gratitude. Schools will organise painting and speech competitions under ‘Mere Sapno Ka Bharat—Chitra Seva’. A 30-minute play titled ‘Namo Seva—Ankahi Kahaniyan’ will be staged in villages. Anganwadi and ASHA workers will be honoured under ‘Aangan Milan Seva’, while videos highlighting the transformation in people’s lives will be shared on social media under ‘Seva Ki Kahani’.
Other programmes under the campaign include the lighting of a torch during the ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ as a symbol of the resolve for a developed India, while ‘Seva—Mera Yogdan’ will encourage every citizen to undertake an act of service. ‘Seva Setu’ camps will be organised for one week at every Assembly constituency and block level to help people access the benefits of government schemes. Rangolis will be created at prominent locations under ‘Seva Ke Rang, Rashtra Ke Sang’. ‘Jan Sevak Mahakumbh’ will bring together village panches and sarpanches.
In addition, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Jayanti will be observed on September 25, while a special cleanliness drive will be conducted under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on October 2, on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti.
Dhillon assured that Punjab BJP will work with complete dedication and commitment to make the campaign a grand success.
