Former PPCC General Secretary Pawan Dewan and ex‑Planning Board Chairman SBS Nagar Satvir Singh Palijikki today called on AICC General Secretary and Punjab Congress in‑charge Sachin Pilot at Indira Bhawan, New Delhi. Dewan and Satvir engaged in an in‑depth, meaningful dialogue with Pilot, deliberating on a wide spectrum of pressing issues concerning Punjab Congress affairs.
Terming the meeting as extremely fruitful, Dewan and Satvir said, “Deliberations were held regarding advancing the party’s collective commitment to the people in Punjab.” Dewan and Satvir also apprised Pilot of the prevailing ‘anarchy’ in the state, attributing it to the ‘misgovernance’ of the current AAP regime underscoring the urgency for Congress to step up as the credible alternative.
“We categorically told Sachin that ‘jungle raj’ has gripped Punjab, with law and order collapsing by the day. Every section of society is bearing the brunt of the AAP government’s disastrous policies,” said Dewan and Satvir. They added that the Congress in Punjab stands united and resolute, fully prepared to fight the upcoming assembly elections as one cohesive force, determined to restore peace, governance and dignity to the people of the state.
Maintaining that the people of Punjab are utterly disillusioned with the Bhagwant Mann‑led AAP government, Dewan and Satvir asserted, “It is written on the wall that under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, Congress is poised for a landslide victory in the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.” They said that Sachin patiently heard every issue raised and encouraged them to sustain the momentum against the ruling dispensation, reinforcing the Congress’s resolve to emerge as the united, credible force the state desperately needs.
