Marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s completion of 25 years in public service, the BJP organised a ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ in Mohali on Wednesday under its ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’. A ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha’ was also held on the occasion.

Addressing BJP workers and people in Mohali, Punjab BJP State President Kewal Singh Dhillon urged them to draw inspiration from Prime Minister Modi’s journey and contribute to the development of the country and Punjab. He said the ‘Seva Jyoti’ was not merely a lamp, but a symbol of service, dedication and resolve, adding that PM Modi had made public service the purpose of his life.

Dhillon said Narendra Modi had served Gujarat as Chief Minister before taking on the responsibility of leading the country as Prime Minister. Since assuming office, he said, the Prime Minister had introduced several initiatives focused on infrastructure, digital technology, the welfare of the poor, farmers, women and youth.

Dhillon cited the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana for promoting financial inclusion, the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana for expanding access to LPG connections, Ayushman Bharat for widening access to healthcare, and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for providing pucca houses to economically weaker families. He said the expansion of road, rail and air connectivity, along with services such as Vande Bharat trains, had further strengthened the country’s transport infrastructure.

Referring to India’s digital transformation, Dhillon highlighted initiatives such as Digital India, Make in India and UPI, saying digital payments had become an integral part of everyday life for millions of people.

On issues concerning Punjab and the Sikh community, Dhillon said the construction of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, the decision to observe December 26 as ‘Veer Bal Diwas’, and GST relief for langars at gurdwaras were among the steps taken by the Central Government that, according to him, reflected its respect for Sikh traditions and heritage.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had set before the country the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’. Achieving this goal, he said, would require the participation of every section of society, including farmers, youth, women, traders and workers.

Dhillon appealed to BJP workers to take the message of ‘Seva Jyoti’ to every village, street and household in Punjab and encourage people to join the broader resolve of service, dedication and nation-building.
