Former Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar, raising questions over alleged irregularities in the PCS examination, asked the AAP government: “What is the difference between the hijacking of the PCS examination and the NEET paper leak case?” He said that the delhi gang has subverted the entire examination process of a constitutional entity like PPSC. Jakhar said that allegations of malpractice in examinations were emerging one after another under the Bhagwant Mann government, and that the same pattern witnessed in the Naib Tehsildar examination was now being seen in the PCS examination. He demanded a CBI investigation, saying the AAP government had failed to bring even the previous investigation to a conclusion.

Jakhar further said that, pending a CBI investigation, interviews should be put on hold in accordance with the candidates’ demands, and every candidate’s subject-wise marks and all cut-off details should be made public. In a lengthy message shared on social media, Jakhar wrote: “What is the difference between the hijacking of the PCS examination and the NEET paper leak case? “First came the paper leak in the Naib Tehsildar recruitment examination, followed by the paper leak in the recruitment examination for paramedical staff at Baba Farid Medical University. Now, the prestigious PCS examination has allegedly been hijacked through malpractice in the Punjab Public Service Commission’s (PPSC) mains examination. Let Punjab’s youth decide how this differs from the NEET paper leak case.

“The announced results of the PPSC mains examination have punctured the Bhagwant Mann government’s claims of providing jobs ‘without money or recommendations.’ “As many as 10 to 11 candidates have been selected from individual examination rooms. It has also emerged that a total of 86 candidates were selected in groups of three or four consecutive roll numbers. “Was this entire arrangement made when the roll numbers were issued? Were certain favoured candidates deliberately allotted consecutive roll numbers as part of a calculated conspiracy?

“In a prestigious competitive examination such as the PCS, how is it possible for nearly one-fourth of the candidates seated at a particular examination centre or in a few selected rooms to qualify, unless some ‘special method’ was adopted? “The Bhagwant Mann government has faced allegations of similar malpractice in recruitment examinations in the past as well. “This concerns the dreams, hopes and future of Punjab’s youth. “An investigation into the entire matter by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is essential so that the truth can emerge and all the facts can be placed before the public.”
