Chandigarh, December 5

BJP Punjab State Media Head Vineet Joshi dismissed AAP spokesperson Baltej Pannu’s allegations against the Gujarat government and BJP based on an audio related to Lawrence Bishnoi, calling it an attempt to divert attention from AAP’s accountability in the ongoing local body elections.

Joshi cited the viral TV interview of Lawrence Bishnoi from inside a Punjab jail as “clear evidence” of AAP’s collusion. He said the government had earlier denied any such interview but suspended officers after the High Court intervened, exposing its contradictory claims.

Accusing AAP of failing in rural development during its 45-month tenure, Joshi said even salaries of sarpanches and panches have been pushed onto panchayats. He alleged AAP is using the Gujarat audio to create a false narrative aimed at misleading rural voters.

On another viral audio–video, Joshi claimed the clip shows a senior police officer, officials, and AAP leaders planning to tamper with opposition nomination papers and intimidate candidates. “AAP plans to win elections through police pressure,” he alleged.
