Mandi, January 21

BJP Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut said that the beginning of the year 2026 has brought an extremely auspicious and historic decision for the Mandi Parliamentary Constituency. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government of India has approved 142 road projects with an estimated cost of ₹1240.53 crore under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY-IV), Batch-I (2025-26). These projects will cover a total length of 846.32 kilometres and provide road connectivity to 209 rural habitations.

Ranaut informed that she has received an official communication dated January 20 from the Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, confirming the approval. The letter clearly states that these roads will not only strengthen rural infrastructure but will also significantly accelerate the socio-economic development of Himachal Pradesh.

Ranaut said that the Mandi Parliamentary Constituency has suffered extensive damage in recent years due to floods and heavy rainfall, resulting in severe destruction of road connectivity in many areas. At such a time, the sanction of such a large amount by the Central Government reflects its sensitivity, compassion, and firm commitment towards public welfare.

The BJP MP stated that these road projects will greatly improve the transportation of agricultural produce, access to healthcare and education, disaster relief and rescue operations, tourism, and local employment opportunities in rural areas. All-weather connectivity will make life easier for people living in remote and difficult terrain.

Ranaut further said that Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has emphasized speedy and high-quality execution of these projects so that the public can derive long-term benefits. As a Member of Parliament, she assured full coordination with the State Government to ensure that all works are completed in a transparent, time-bound manner without compromising on quality.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the people of Mandi, Kangana Ranaut thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, stating that this decision reflects the Modi Government’s visionary policy of empowering rural India and strengthening disaster-affected regions.
