Dehradun, October 16
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved the proposal to adjust two Agniveers, set to retire from the Indian Army in November 2026, into the 40th PAC Battalion against available vacant posts. A letter from the Joint Secretary, Government of India, had informed that the first batch of Agniveers recruited under the Agnipath scheme will be released from service in November 2026, and requested their adjustment in Uttarakhand. Granting approval, the Chief Minister said the decision ensures retiring Agniveers continue to get opportunities for service. This marks a significant step by the state government to provide post‑retirement employment to Agniveers.
