A district level deliberations workshop on Computational Thinking (CT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) was organized at Loreto Convent School Tara Hall to promote awareness and understanding of modern technological skills among teachers. The workshop aimed to encourage innovative teaching practices and develop problem-solving abilities through Computational Thinking and AI-based learning. The programme witnessed the participation of educators from various schools of the district. Resource persons for the workshop were Parul Jhingta (BCA Faculty member at Rajiv Gandhi Government College ( Kotshera), Shimla, Dr. Priyanka (Assistant Professor Computer Applications, G.D.C Sanjauli, Shimla and Nivedita Bhardwaj (Assistant Professor Department of Computer Science, St. Bede’s. Shimla).
The different presenters explained the importance of CT and AI in present-day education and demonstrated different tools and activities that can be integrated into classroom teaching. Interactive sessions, group discussions and hands-on activities, made the workshop informative and engaging. The participants discussed the role of Artificial Intelligence in shaping the future of education and emphasized the need to equip students with digital and analytical skills. The workshop concluded with a feedback session in which teachers appreciated the initiative and expressed their willingness to implement the learned strategies in their classrooms.
The staff of Loreto Convent along with other teachers from different schools including Saraswati Paradise International Public School, Sanjauli, Trinity International School Fagu, Central School for Tibetan, Chotta Shimla, Chandernahan Meadows, CST Shimla, Loreto Convent participated in the workshop. The event proved to be highly beneficial and inspiring for all the participants. The workshop ended with the declaration of three presenters (teachers) adjudged as the winners. First Ina Sharma followed by Sunita Sharma and Anupama Sankhayn. The Principal congratulated the winners and felicitated the resources persons.
