Chandigarh, June 7
Rao Narender Singh, President of the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC), has criticized the Central Government over rising inflation, especially the increase in LPG cylinder prices.
Singh said the price of a domestic LPG cylinder has gone up by ₹29 today, and has increased by nearly ₹90 in the last three months. He added that commercial LPG cylinders have also become costlier, increasing expenses for hotels, restaurants, dhabas, and small businesses. These higher costs, he said, are eventually being passed on to consumers.
Singh also raised concern about rising petrol and diesel prices, saying this has increased transport costs and led to higher prices of essential goods. He further mentioned issues like a weakening rupee and unemployment, and said government policies are affecting the poor, middle class, farmers, labourers, and small business owners.
Singh demanded immediate relief measures, including rolling back recent LPG price hikes, reducing fuel taxes, and taking steps to control inflation and strengthen the economy. He warned that if public concerns are ignored, the Congress Party will intensify its efforts to raise these issues.
