Member Secretary, CAQM Shri Tarun Pithode, today held a review meeting with DCs/DMs and SSPs of Faridkot, Firozpur, Barnala, Bathinda, Patiala, Malerkotla and Sangrur amid the recent spurt in paddy stubble burning incidents in Punjab. The meeting reviewed actions taken by them and preparedness to manage stubble. DCs/SSPs were directed to strengthen monitoring and enforcement, especially during evening hours; ensure effective deployment of balers and other CRM machinery; intensify farmer awareness campaigns; and ensure involvement of all the concerned in administration including police personnel to prevent paddy stubble burning.
