‘International Nurses Week’ celebrated at PGIMER from today

Chandigarh, May 12

‘International Nurses Week’ is being celebrated in PGIMER, Chandigarh from May 12 to 18. Week long activities started with celebration of ‘International Nurses Day’ on May 12. The theme for this year is “Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives” . It was celebrated in LT-1, PGIMER, Chandigarh.

Chief Guest on the occasion was Prof. Vivek Lal, Director, PGIMER and Guest of Honour was Additional Prof. Dr. Pankaj Arora from Department of Hospital Administration . The function started with Saraswati Vandana and lamp lighting ceremony. Welcome address was delivered by Mrs. Jaspal Kaur, Acting Chief Nursing Officer . The theme was introduced by Mrs. Sukhpal Kaur, Principal, NINE.

Chief Guest on the occasion, Prof. Vivek Lal, Director, PGIMER , Chandigarh appreciated the role of nurses. He encouraged and motivated them. During the function rich tributes were paid to Florence Nightingale, the pioneer of modern nursing profession. The function concluded with cake cutting ceremony.
