Chandigarh, July 2
The 2 Chandigarh Battalion NCC is conducting the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC)–206 from 27 June to 06 July 2026 at Post Graduate Government College, Sector-11, Chandigarh. A total of 616 Senior and Junior Division/Wing NCC cadets are participating in the camp.
The camp was formally inaugurated by the Camp Commandant Colonel D.S. Dhami, SM. While addressing the cadets, he emphasized that the ten-day training camp would provide an excellent platform for self-assessment, personality development, leadership enhancement, and skill-building. He encouraged the cadets to utilize the camp to its fullest potential and derive maximum benefit from the diverse training opportunities offered.
The training schedule includes Physical Fitness, weapon training, firing practice, drill training, and leadership development activities. Experienced instructors will conduct both theoretical and practical sessions on various military subjects, including Military Studies, Map Reading, Field Craft, and Battle Craft.
To foster a spirit of healthy competition, teamwork, and camaraderie, a wide range of sports and cultural activities will be organized during the camp. These include volleyball matches, drill competitions, tug-of-war contests, professional competitions and cultural programmes.
In addition, the cadets will attend informative and awareness sessions on road safety, first aid, HIV/AIDS awareness, fire safety, health and hygiene, cyber security, anti-drug campaigns, and career opportunities. Motivational lectures on joining the Indian Armed Forces will also be conducted.
The primary objective of CATC–206 is to instill discipline, leadership qualities, self-confidence, team spirit, and a sense of social responsibility among the cadets, thereby preparing them to become responsible citizens and future leaders of the nation.
