Chandigarh, July 2

Kewal Singh Dhillon, President of BJP Punjab, strongly opposed the Land Pooling Policy being reintroduced by the AAP government, terming it outright anti-farmer.

Dhillon said that this government of “false change” in Punjab is actually being run through remote control from Delhi, and its objective is not Punjab’s development but the grabbing of farmers’ lands.

The BJP state president questioned the government sharply, asking whether commercial or residential plots can ever sustain a household. Land is the sole source of livelihood for farmers. These plots cannot provide bread and sustenance to farmers’ families.

Dhillon said that when the government introduced the same policy last year, Punjab’s farmers had strongly opposed it then as well. This is not a policy for development; rather, it is a well-planned conspiracy by Arvind Kejriwal and his party to exploit Punjab, uproot farmers, and seize control of their lands.

Dhillon took a jibe at the Aam Aadmi Party, saying that just like in 2022, this “broom-wielding government” has once again begun showing false dreams to farmers. But the government should not assume that the people of Punjab will fall for their deception again.

Failed scam-ridden leaders from Delhi are drafting these policies, with their sole focus on looting Punjab’s resources. Dhillon warned in clear and unequivocal words that BJP stands firmly like a rock for the rights of Punjab’s farmers. This Land Pooling Policy will only harm farmers and Punjab as a whole. We will not allow this anti-farmer policy to be implemented at any cost.

Dhillon said the government will have to reverse this decision and withdraw the policy. The AAP government should be ready for yet another U-turn, because Punjab’s farmers will no longer tolerate further deception from these so-called revolutionaries.
