Patiala, April 28

In a continued effort to inspire responsible water usage among the younger generation, Patiala Foundation conducted its Sixth Workshop under the initiative “Save Water: Think, Act, Preserve” at Green Well (Academy) High School, Patiala, Punjab. The initiative, organized in collaboration with the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST) and supported by the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, focused on building awareness and encouraging actionable change. Conducted under Project PRITHVI, the flagship initiative of Patiala Foundation, the workshop was designed to instill environmental responsibility among students and encourage sustainable practices and mindful living

The session began with a pre-activity assessment to gauge students’ existing understanding of water usage and conservation. It was followed by thoughtfully designed sessions conceptualized by Mr. Ravee Singh Ahluwalia, Founder and CEO of Patiala Foundation, aimed at building awareness and encouraging responsible environmental behaviour. Emphasizing the urgency of the issue, he highlighted that the future of water conservation lies in the choices we make today and urged students to adopt simple, mindful habits to protect this vital resource. The session concluded with a post-assessment to evaluate learning outcomes and reinforce key takeaways.

Sharing his vision, Ravee Singh Ahluwalia, Founder and CEO of Patiala Foundation, said, “Water is the foundation of life, and conserving it is a shared responsibility we cannot ignore. Real change begins with awareness, but it is sustained through everyday actions. By engaging and educating our youth, we are not only protecting our present but also securing a more sustainable and responsible future for generations to come.”

The workshop featured an informative session on clean and safe water, addressing the growing concern of water scarcity and emphasizing the urgent need to protect water resources for public health, ecological balance, and long-term sustainability. Key issues such as overconsumption, pollution, and climate change were highlighted to create awareness among students.

Adding significant value to the workshop, Nishu Gupta led an engaging and interactive session focused on practical approaches to water conservation in daily life. Through activity-based learning, real-life examples, and simple strategies, she inspired students to adopt mindful water-saving habits.

As part of the session, students actively participated by writing postcards to their parents, encouraging water conservation practices at home, and creating meaningful messages for the “Water Tree,” reinforcing daily reminders to save water.

The session also included dynamic discussions on water wastage, sustainable consumption, and effective conservation methods such as reuse, efficient usage, and rainwater harvesting—strongly reinforcing the importance of turning awareness into action.

The session was further supported by Mr. Pawan Goyal, Senior Member of Patiala Foundation, who sensitized students through practical examples and encouraged them to adopt responsible habits for saving water.

Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), the initiative underscored the importance of collective responsibility in addressing environmental challenges.

The organizing team offers its grateful acknowledgement to Mrs. Manju (Principal) for her encouragement in inspiring students to adopt water conservation practices. Special thanks are also extended to the school management—Samrez Jahan, Sunita Malhotra, Neena Garg and Hardeep Kaur of Green Well (Academy) High School, Patiala—for their valuable support and cooperation in successfully conducting the workshop.

This initiative, conducted under the aegis of Punjab State Council for Science & Technology and supported by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, reflects a shared commitment to building environmentally conscious citizens dedicated to sustainable living. The session concluded with a strong call to adopt small actions to save water and encouraged students to become ambassadors of change. Patiala Foundation remains committed to reinforcing the message that small, consistent efforts can lead to significant impact.

The workshop concluded on a positive note, inspiring students to embrace responsible habits and contribute actively towards conserving water—because every drop saved today secures a better tomorrow.
