PUCA announces Rs 50 cr scholarships for Bihar & Jharkhand students

The Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA)  organized two Education B2B Summits in Patna (Bihar) and Ranchi (Jharkhand), bringing together leading educational institutions from Punjab and hundreds of education consultants from both states. During the twin summits, PUCA announced scholarships worth Rs 50 Crore through participating institutions to support meritorious and deserving students seeking quality higher education.

Addressing the gatherings, Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, PUCA and Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura (Near Chandigarh), said that Punjab has emerged as one of North India’s leading higher education destinations due to its quality institutions, industry-oriented curriculum, affordable fee structure, safe environment, excellent placements, and strong industry-academia connect.

Dr. Kataria highlighted that Bihar produces nearly 12.5 lakh Class XII pass-outs annually, while Jharkhand contributes over 4 lakh Class XII students every year, creating a massive demand for quality higher education. While both states are continuously strengthening their educational infrastructure, Punjab currently possesses a vast network of universities, engineering colleges, nursing institutes, pharmacy colleges, law schools, management institutes, paramedical colleges and skill-based institutions capable of accommodating students from across the country.

Speaking on the historical relationship between Punjab and Bihar-Jharkhand, Dr. Kataria said that the contribution of people from Bihar and Jharkhand has been instrumental in Punjab’s growth story. Thousands of hardworking families from these states have played a significant role in strengthening Punjab’s agriculture, industries, infrastructure and service sectors. Their contribution to Punjab’s Green Revolution and White Revolution remains invaluable and continues to strengthen the socio-economic bond between the regions.

The summits witnessed participation from leading institutions including Aryans Group of Colleges, Akal Group of Institutions, Amar Shaheed Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy, Baba Farid Group of Institutions, GNA University, Global Group of Institutes, Golden Group of Institutions, Gulzar Group of Colleges, ISF College of Pharmacy, KC Group of Institutions, Mahant Gurbanta Dass Memorial Group of Institutions, Khalsa College, Modern Group of Colleges, SBS Group of Educational Institutions, Sri Sai Group of Institutes, St. Mary Rehabilitation University, Sukhjinder Group of Institutes, SVIET Group of Institutes and Himalayan Group of Professional Institutions. More than 500 education consultants, academic leaders joined these events.
