Patiala Foundation, in collaboration with the District Administration and with support from KATALINE Ltd., organised a Reflective Safety Vest Distribution Drive for employees of Tenneco and Milkfood at Bahadurgarh, Patiala, under Project SADAK (Glow for Life).

The programme marked the sixth Mega Event under the SADAK (Glow for Life) initiative, further strengthening efforts to promote visibility, preventive safety and responsible road behaviour among industrial workers and road users.

The event was held at M/s Tenneco, Bahadurgarh, under the guidance of Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Patiala. The event was attended by Mukline R, 2024 Batch IAS and OSD to the Deputy Commissioner, Patiala; Pavneet Kaur, Assistant Labour Commissioner; Ashish Aggarwal, Head HR, Tenneco; Harpreet Singh Sandhu, Dr. Abhinandan Bassi, Aadishwar Ahluwalia, Nishu Gupta and Madhu Sahoonja from Patiala Foundation.

Speaking on the occasion, Mukilan R, 2024 Batch IAS and OSD to the Deputy Commissioner, Patiala, stated:

“Road safety is a shared responsibility that requires awareness as well as practical preventive measures. Initiatives such as the distribution of reflective safety vests are a simple yet meaningful step towards improving visibility and safety, particularly for those who travel or work around roads during low-light conditions. I appreciate the efforts of Patiala Foundation in taking this initiative to industrial employees and encouraging a stronger culture of safety. Such collaborations between the administration, industry and civil society can play an important role in making our roads safer.”

Highlighting the significance of the initiative, Ravee Singh Ahluwalia, Founder & CEO, Patiala Foundation, stated, “Road safety is not only about responding after an accident; it is about building a culture where preventive safety becomes a part of our everyday behaviour. Through Project SADAK, Patiala Foundation is committed to taking road safety initiatives beyond awareness and into practical action. The distribution of reflective safety vests to employees of Tenneco and Milkfood is one such step towards encouraging visibility, responsibility and safer mobility. We are grateful to the Deputy Commissioner, the Labour Department, KATALINE Ltd. and our industry partners for supporting this shared vision of creating safer roads and more responsible communities.”

With this initiative, Patiala Foundation has so far facilitated the distribution of 372 reflective safety jackets across various organisations, further strengthening its efforts to promote visibility and preventive road-safety practices among employees and road users.

Reflective safety vests enhance the visibility of individuals, particularly during early morning, evening and low-light conditions, and encourage employees who commute or work near roads to adopt simple preventive safety measures as part of their daily routine.

Patiala Foundation expressed its sincere gratitude to the District Administration, Patiala; Labour Department; Tenneco; Milkfood; KATALINE Ltd.; and all participating stakeholders for their valuable support. The sixth Mega Event under Project SADAK (Glow for Life) marks another meaningful step towards promoting safer roads and strengthening a culture of preventive road safety across Patiala and Punjab.
