Chandigarh, April 22
Haryana Congress President Rao Narender Singh addressed a massive gathering of party workers regarding the nomination of Sonipat mayoral candidate Kamal Diwan. A large number of Congress workers, office bearers, and supporters were present on the occasion, creating an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm, energy, and excitement.
While addressing the gathering, he appealed to the local people to ensure a resounding victory for Congress candidate Kamal Diwan with a huge majority.
On this occasion, Singh said that the Congress party is contesting the municipal elections with full seriousness, strength, and public support. The party is fielding candidates with clean images, dedication to public service, and a progressive vision who can live up to the expectations of the people. He said that special priority has been given to women in these municipal elections.
Emphasizing greater participation of women in local bodies, Singh said that women’s involvement makes administration more sensitive, accountable, and effective. He also targeted the BJP, alleging that the party only seeks political gain from women’s issues. He further claimed that through a planned conspiracy, the BJP prevented the implementation of the Women’s Reservation Bill and is now trying to blame Congress for it. He described this as a clear example of appeasement politics.
Singh said that Congress has always remained committed to the rights, dignity, and empowerment of women. Reiterating the demand for the early implementation of the Women’s Reservation Act passed in 2023, he said that women should receive their constitutional rights without delay.
The Haryana Congress President expressed confidence that in the municipal elections, the Congress party would secure victory with a majority through public support and would set a new direction for development and public welfare in the state.
On this occasion, Rohtak MP Deepender Singh Hooda, Sonipat MP Satpal Brahmachari, MLA Indu Raj Narwal, Sonipat District Congress Committee (Rural) President Sanjeev Dahiya, former MLAs Jaiveer Singh Valmiki, Jagbir Singh Malik, Surender Pawar, Padam Singh Dahiya and Sukhbir Farmana, former Rai candidate Jai Bhagwan Antil, along with hundreds of party workers, were present.
