Chandigarh, April 21
Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema held a series of meetings with delegations of employee and workers’ unions, where he heard their demands in detail and assured swift resolution of legitimate issues. Reaffirming the Bhagwant Mann government’s commitment to employee welfare, he directed departments to take immediate action and send proposals in matters requiring financial approval.
During these meetings, Cheema engaged in a detailed dialogue with the delegations from the Art and Craft TET Pass Berozgar Adhyapak Union, and the Lal Jhanda Mid-Day-Meal Workers Union and the Democratic Mid Day Meal Cook Front. Furthermore, comprehensive discussions were also held with the leadership of the Overage Berozgar Adhyapak Union and the Punjab Nambardar Union. The Finance Minister provided a patient, sympathetic, and thorough hearing to the issues and demands brought forward by the union leaders during these interactive sessions.
Following the extensive deliberations, Cheema took decisive administrative steps toward the mitigation of the highlighted problems. Adopting a compassionate and pragmatic approach to the grievances of the employees, he issued directives to the officials of the concerned administrative departments to initiate immediate action to fulfill all legitimate and justifiable demands raised by the unions. Furthermore, for matters requiring specific fiscal approvals or financial restructuring, the Finance Minister directed the relevant administrative departments to prepare and submit detailed proposals to the Finance Department to ensure prompt consideration and clearance.
Cheema stated, “By actively engaging with union representatives and accelerating the bureaucratic processes for grievance redressal, the Bhagwant Mann government aims to ensure the welfare, financial security, and professional satisfaction of all employees and working groups within the state.”
