Chandigarh, May 17
The MP from Sirsa, Former Union Minister, General Secretary of the All Indian Congress Committee and CWC member, Kumari Selja has termed the alleged paper leak and irregularities in the NEET examination as an attack on the future of millions of students across the country. She said the BJP government’s policies and growing corruption in the education system have shattered the dreams of hardworking students and their families. Kumari Selja said more than 22 lakh students appeared for the examination after months of hard work, but repeated reports of paper leaks and irregularities have raised serious questions about the credibility of the examination system.
Selja said that this is not merely an issue concerning one examination, but a question of the future and trust of the country’s youth. She added that the entire episode has shocked the nation and described reports of students taking extreme steps following the controversy as deeply painful and worrying. She stressed that accountability must be fixed.
Selja demanded that responsibility be fixed on Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and called for an impartial probe into the functioning of the National Testing Agency, along with strict action against those responsible. She alleged that the BJP government was trying to avoid a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe, while the country’s youth were seeking transparency and justice.
Selja demanded proper justice and compensation for affected students and urged the Prime Minister to break his silence and provide clear answers to the youth of the country on the issue. She said the protests and voices raised by the Indian Youth Congress and students across the country reflected the concerns of millions of young people. Kumari Selja said the youth of the country now want answers, and the Congress party will continue to fight strongly for the interests of students.
