Lucknow, June 5
On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Yogi Government of Uttar Pradesh once again reaffirmed its commitment to environmental conservation by launching the mega plantation drive under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, with a target of planting 50 million saplings in a single day.
During the programme, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath honoured the winners of the logo design and painting competitions as well as Gram Pradhans. The students and village heads were visibly delighted to receive recognition from the Chief Minister. During the event, students thanked the Chief Minister and also extended birthday wishes to him.
Among participants from across the state in the logo design competition, Mahi Raza, a Class VII student from Lalitpur, secured the first position. The Chief Minister presented her with a cheque of ₹50,000. Similarly, Sumbul Fatima, a Class V student from Kannauj, received the second prize and a cheque of ₹25,000 from the Chief Minister. Sumbul said that she felt extremely happy to be honoured by the Chief Minister and expressed her gratitude by saying, “Thank you, Chief Minister Sir.”
In the same competition, Shraddha Tripathi, a Class X student from Mirzapur, secured the third position. Shraddha said, “Meeting the Chief Minister was a wonderful experience and that I’m very happy to receive the honour.” She added that she had won third place in the logo design competition.
The winners of the painting competition were also honoured during the programme. Ajay Kumar Dubey received the first prize of ₹25,000, Srishti Shukla received the second prize of ₹15,000, and Sudhakar received the third prize of ₹10,000.
Srishti Shukla, a resident of Lakhimpur Kheri district, said that she had studied at Shakuntala University. She noted that a large number of students from across the state participated in the competition, and she was delighted to secure second place. She expressed happiness at being honoured by the Chief Minister and conveyed her heartfelt birthday wishes to him.
Gram Pradhans who played a role in securing wetland notifications were also honoured during the event. Rajkishore Verma, a Gram Pradhan from Barabanki district, said that he had been honoured by the Chief Minister for efforts related to the declaration of a wetland lake and expressed his sincere gratitude.
They wished Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath a long life and hoped that he would continue working for public welfare. During the event, the Chief Minister honoured six Gram Pradhans, including Rajkishore Verma and Sushil Kumar Singh from Barabanki, Mantu Singh from Chitrakoot, Mansharam from Ayodhya, Harendra Singh from Farrukhabad, and Anita Devi from Chandauli.
