Excise Department steps up crackdown on illegal liquor trade in Ludhiana East Range

The Excise Department has intensified its special enforcement drive against the illegal liquor trade across the Ludhiana East Range. As part of the campaign, surprise inspections were carried out at several prominent dhabas, chicken corners, liquor vends and hard bars to ensure compliance with excise regulations. Officials said the department would continue taking strict action against any form of illegal liquor business.

The drive is being conducted under the supervision of Khushdil Singh, PCS, Deputy Commissioner, Excise, Patiala, and on the directions of Amit Goyal, Assistant Commissioner, Excise. The operation was led by Excise Officers Vikas Kumar and Sauravpreet Singh, along with a team of Excise Inspectors.

The team inspected Lark Dhaba, Dogra Dhaba, Sher-e-Punjab, Chawla’s and Aman Snacks, among other establishments. During the inspections, officials found no irregularities or illegal activities. In addition, liquor vends and hard bars located in Ludhiana East-A and Ludhiana East-B were thoroughly checked. No violations or discrepancies were detected during the inspections.

Excise officials said the department remains committed to protecting public health and safeguarding government revenue. They added that surprise inspections and strict enforcement drives would continue, and anyone found violating the Excise Act would face stringent legal action.
