New Delhi, June 2

Dispelling weeks of conjecture, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) today categorically ruled out any leadership change in the Punjab Congress. After a high-level meeting convened by Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi, Punjab Congress Affairs In‑charge and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel told mediapersons that “there was not even any discussion over leadership change—it was all media speculation.” Congress General Secretary (Organization) K.C. Venugopal echoed the same sentiment, reinforcing the party’s stand.

The clarification comes against the backdrop of a social media campaign launched by a section of Punjab Congress leaders seeking to unseat PPCC president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring. Undeterred by detractors, Warring has continued to lead from the front, sustaining aggressive political activity and strengthening the state unit with renewed energy.

With today’s announcement, the Congress high command has sent a clear signal: stability, not speculation, will guide the party’s course in Punjab.
