Chandigarh, July 31
Bharatiya Janata Party Punjab President Kewal Singh Dhillon welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strong warning against the paper leak mafia and the stringent anti-paper leak law passed by Parliament. He said the Centre’s decision is a visionary and much-needed step towards safeguarding the future of millions of hardworking students and ensuring transparency in the examination system.
Dhillon said maintaining the sanctity of the education system and respecting the hard work of young aspirants are among the Modi Government’s highest priorities. The Prime Minister has made it clear that no one who plays with the future of the country’s youth will be spared. He added that while paper leak incidents shatter students’ morale, the Prime Minister’s firm stand has restored confidence and hope among young people across the country.
Targeting the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab, Dhillon said Arvind Kejriwal has repeatedly sought to mobilise youth in Delhi for political gains, but in Punjab—where his own party is in power—the future of young aspirants is being continuously compromised through repeated examination irregularities.
Dhillon alleged that during the AAP government’s tenure, no concrete action has been taken in six major cases, including the Faridkot Pharmacy examination cheating case, the Class XII English paper leak, the Punjab TET irregularities, the PSSSB Group-B paper leak, and the Agriculture Development Officer recruitment examination paper leak. He said the government has completely failed to bring the main accused to justice in these cases.
Dhillon said that accepting moral responsibility for this betrayal of Punjab’s youth, the state’s Education and Health Minister should immediately resign from their posts. He further stated that while the Modi Government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against the paper leak mafia and is securing examinations through stringent laws and modern technology, the AAP government in Punjab has utterly failed to ensure the integrity of the examination system. According to him, the Centre is strengthening students’ confidence by taking swift action against offenders, whereas the Punjab Government is demoralising students by allegedly shielding the real culprits behind repeated paper leak incidents. The BJP Punjab President said that while the nation is witnessing an example of accountability and transparency.
