Chandigarh, April 15
The Office of the Registrar General & Census Commissioner, India, has announced that the Self-Enumeration process under Census 2027 will be conducted in Haryana from April 16 to 30. During this period, residents of the State can submit their census details online through the official portal se.census.gov.in. This digital initiative marks a significant step towards citizen-centric governance, enabling households in both urban and rural areas to participate from anywhere using mobile phones, tablets, or computers.
Self-Enumeration is a fully self-declaration based process and no documents are required. Citizens need to register on the portal using a mobile number and OTP, mark their house or location on the digital map, and enter details of all household members along with information on housing conditions and amenities. The form comprises approximately 33 questions covering household composition, type and condition of house, availability of drinking water, electricity, sanitation, and socio-economic and educational details. Mobile number is mandatory. Upon submission, a unique Self-Enumeration ID (SE ID) will be generated, which must be shared with the enumerator during field verification.
The Self-Enumeration phase will be followed by the Houselisting and Housing Census (HLO) from 1st May to 30th May 2026. During HLO, enumerators will visit households to verify the information submitted online and to enumerate households that have not self-enumerated. The facility for Self-Enumeration is available across all districts of Haryana and is designed to make the process faster, transparent, and convenient for citizens.
Data collected through this exercise will play a crucial role in district-level planning and in the effective implementation of state development and welfare schemes. It will help in better targeting of services and in improving overall service delivery across Haryana. The active participation of citizens will strengthen evidence-based governance and accelerate the State’s development.
All information provided by residents will remain strictly confidential and secure. The data will be used only for statistical purposes and development planning in accordance with the provisions of the Census Act. Citizens are assured that privacy and data protection remain top priorities.
All residents of Haryana are appealed to actively participate in the Self-Enumeration process from April 16 to April 30, 2026 and ensure accurate and complete submission of information. Your participation will help build a stronger, data-driven Haryana and ensure that every household is counted in the nation’s largest administrative exercise.
