Finally, Jalandhar MP, CWC member and former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has fallen in line with the party high command. After a three‑hour meeting with AICC general secretary (Organisation) KC Venugopal, Channi told the media: “All is well.” He added, “Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge are our leaders and their decision is binding on everyone. We have conveyed our viewpoint, and whatever decision the high command takes, we are with the party.” This statement signals that the disgruntled leaders have now agreed to the reappointment of Amarinder Singh Raja Warring as Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief. The meeting with Venugopal was also attended by former Deputy CM Sukhjinder Randhawa, MLA Rana Gurjeet, and former Punjab ministers Pargat Singh and Vijay Inder Singla. However, most of them chose to remain tight‑lipped about what exactly transpired during the deliberations. The development is being seen as a major boost for the Warring camp and a clear setback for the Channi group.
