Chandigarh, April 15

Expressing grave concern over the complete collapse of law and order in Punjab, the PCC president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today said that killings, extortion and ransoms have become “new normal” in the state. Reacting to the killing of a youth in Moga today, he said, the killers have the audacity to kill people at their will, as they do not have any fear of law. “Since law and order is not a priority of the AAP government, the common man has been left at the mercy of gangsters”, he remarked.

Warring also referred to the incident of firing at the house of a Payal based leading businessman late in the night. He said the said businessman had earlier received a ransom call for Rs one crore. “The firing at his house was done obviously to scare and force him to pay the ransom money”, he said.

The PCC President said that like everything else, the AAP government had restricted the action against gangsters to newspaper advertisements only.

Referring to a recently released list of gangsters with reward money on their head, he said, the government seems to believe that its job ended with the newspaper advertisements only, while the gangsters are actually ruling the roost with no fear of law.
