CS directs completion of pending land acquisition for Char Dham Project Packages 2 & 3 within one week

Dehradun, July 8

A meeting related to the Char Dham Project’s Package 2 and Package 3 was held at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Ramesh Kumar Sudhanshu. During the meeting, the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) presented the current status of land acquisition compensation distribution, pending compensation at the CALA level, arbitration cases, ownership disputes, and other relevant matters concerning Packages 2 and 3 of the project.

The Chief Secretary directed that all pending land acquisition proceedings under Packages 2 and 3 be completed and possession of the concerned land be handed over to NHIDCL within a maximum of one week. He further stated that if the required actions are not completed within the stipulated timeframe, responsibility will be fixed on the concerned officials and necessary action will be taken against them as per rules.

The meeting was attended by Secretary, Public Works Department, Pankaj Kumar Pandey; Additional Secretaries Vineet Kumar, Kalyani, and Meenakshi Joshi; Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Nodal Officer for forest land transfer; Additional District Magistrate, Chamoli; and officials from NHIDCL.
