Chandigarh, August 11
Former General Secretary of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) and Ex-chairman of Punjab Large Industrial Development Board Pawan Dewan, who is currently in London, engaged in constructive discussions with members of the Indian Overseas Congress (IOC). “The interaction focused on issues concerning Punjab, with deliberations highlighting the importance of strengthening democratic values, addressing socio‑economic challenges and ensuring inclusive development,” said Dewan.
Dewan emphasized the need for collaborative efforts between the state and diaspora to amplify Punjab’s voice on national and international platforms. “The meeting reflected a spirit of unity and commitment to finding practical solutions, underscoring the Congress party’s dedication to dialogue and consensus‑building on matters vital to Punjab’s,” he added.
Meanwhile, on his arrival Dewan was accorded a warm welcome by Senior Leaders IOC UK Gurminder Randhawa and Sandeep Soni.
“It was a great pleasure to meet Dewan along with former MP Virendra Sharma, former District President Nawanshahr Satvir Singh Palijikki, General Secretary of Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) UK Vikram Duhan and fellow colleagues from IOC UK,” said Randhawa and Soni. The further said that it was a wonderful opportunity to interact and share the current scenario of Punjab, particularly the political developments taking place.
Meanwhile, Dewan expressed his gratitude to Sandeep Soni from IOC UK for graciously organising the dinner and bringing everyone together. Prominent among others present included Raman Bhandal Kanech, Vikram Duhan and Rintu Warich.
