Ludhiana, April 14
Congress leaders, under the leadership of Pawan Dewan—former president of the Ludhiana Urban Congress Committee and former Chairman of the Punjab Large Industrial Development Board—paid homage to Constitution maker Dr. B. R. Ambedkar on his birth anniversary in Sarabha Nagar. Party leaders and workers offered floral tributes to his portrait and recalled his enduring thoughts and contributions with deep respect.
Addressing the gathering, Pawan Dewan emphasized that Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s ideas hold even greater relevance today, as various sections of society continue to struggle for their rights. He noted that while Dr. Ambedkar gifted the nation a strong and visionary Constitution, the present government is persistently attempting to weaken its foundations.
Dewan underscored that the Congress has consistently championed the rights of the needy and marginalized sections of society. He affirmed that Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s vision and ideas will continue to inspire and guide the nation—not only in the present, but for generations to come.
Senior Congress leaders including Inderjit Kapoor, Jaswinder Singh Osahan, Gurnam Singh Kaler, Gagandeep Bawa, Hemant Mahajan, Nirbhay Singh Ranguwal, Varun Sharma, Nivesh Vasan and Shiv Osahan were also present on the occasion.
