Chandigarh, April 14
The 135th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was celebrated with great reverence, enthusiasm, and grandeur at Kankrola, Sector-87, Gurugram. On this occasion, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee President Rao Narendra Singh attended the program as the Chief Guest and enhanced the dignity of the event with his esteemed presence.
The event began with the unveiling of Baba Saheb’s statue, which was formally inaugurated by Rao Narendra Singh, who also offered floral tributes and paid his respects. During this time, the atmosphere resonated with slogans of “Jai Bhim,” reflecting unity and respect across the gathering.
In his address, Singh said that Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was not only a true jurist and the architect of the Indian Constitution but also one of the greatest champions of social justice, equality, and human rights. He added that Baba Saheb’s life symbolizes struggle, education, and self-respect, and that today’s generation must draw inspiration from his legacy.
Singh further stated that the Constitution of India guarantees equal rights to every citizen, and it is our responsibility to ensure that justice and dignity reach even the last person in society. He called upon everyone to unite against social discrimination, inequality, and injustice.
On this occasion, various speakers also shed light on Baba Saheb’s life and thoughts and pledged to follow his ideals. Cultural performances depicting his life and struggles were also presented, which deeply moved and inspired the audience.
A large number of local residents, social workers, intellectuals, and Congress workers participated in the event. Throughout the program, an atmosphere of discipline, enthusiasm, and devotion prevailed, reflecting the deep respect people hold for Baba Saheb.
