New Delhi, May 25
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Monday demanded the immediate dismissal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over massive alleged irregularities in Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) evaluation, saying lakhs of students were being pushed into trauma and uncertainty because of an “incompetent and ineffective” education system.
Flagging widespread complaints over blurred scanned copies, non-functional portals, failed payment gateways and the controversial OSM (On-Screen Marking) process, Kejriwal said the Centre had pushed the future of lakhs of children into darkness and must immediately allow free manual re-evaluation while scrapping the current revaluation process.
In a post on X, Kejriwal stated, “After the massive scam that has now come to light in CBSE evaluation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi should immediately sack Dharmendra Pradhan. Dharmendra Pradhan is not fit to remain the Education Minister of this country for even a day or a second.”
Kejriwal added, “First there was large-scale irregularity in NEET, and now a major scam has surfaced in the CBSE evaluation process. Lakhs of Class 12 students across the country are under immense stress and depression. Their parents are also deeply disturbed and anxious.”
Raising the demands being made by students, Kejriwal said, “Students are demanding that every child seeking re-evaluation should be given manual re-evaluation. Secondly, the re-evaluation fee should be waived. Thirdly, the entire OSM process should be scrapped. Fourthly, re-evaluation should be completed at the earliest so that students’ admission process is not affected and they can secure admission to colleges on time.”
