Chandigarh, June 10
Former Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar has strongly condemned what he described as attempts by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to divide the people of Punjab on the basis of religion and language. He urged them to refrain from engaging in such divisive politics.
In a message shared on social media, Sunil Jakhar wrote, “Kejriwal ji/Bhagwant Mann ji, do not ignite a fire that you cannot extinguish. Stop this dirty politics of dividing Punjab in the name of religion. Punjab follows the divine principle given by the revered Gurus: ‘manas ki jati sabhe ekai pahchanbo.’”
Jakhar further stated that first Arvind Kejriwal, and then Bhagwant Mann acting on his directions, attempted to portray themselves as well-wishers of Hindus by posting messages in Hindi. According to him, this was part of an AAP strategy to disrupt Punjab’s communal harmony and social unity. He added that the people of Punjab are quick to recognize the true intentions of such political leaders.
