Chandigarh/Jalandhar, May 5

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has termed the explosion near the Border Security Force headquarters in Jalandhar is extremely alarming and deeply concerning. The fact that a blast occurred in a delivery scooter parked in close proximity to such a sensitive security installation raises serious questions about the prevailing law and order situation in Punjab.

“Punjab, being a border state, holds immense strategic importance for national security. Such incidents are not merely isolated law and order failures but reflect deeper lapses in intelligence coordination and security preparedness,” daid Warring.

Warring also wished a speedy recovery to the injured BSF officer and expressed solidarity with the security forces.

Warring stated that while the people of Punjab are living under fear and uncertainty, the Aam Aadmi Party government is busy indulging in political optics, including parading MLAs before the President, instead of focusing on governance and public safety. At the same time, the BJP-led Central Government cannot escape responsibility. Border security and intelligence inputs fall under its domain, and such a lapse near a BSF establishment points to a serious failure on their part as well.

Warring further demanded a thorough, transparent, and time-bound investigation into the incident to ascertain the exact cause of the explosion and fix accountability at all levels. He also called for immediate strengthening of security measures in sensitive zones across Punjab to prevent such incidents in the future.

“The people of Punjab deserve safety, stability, and accountable governance—not political distractions and blame games,” Warring said.
