The Haryana Electricity Employees and Engineers Joint Struggle Front has issued a fresh three‑day strike notice to the government, warning of a statewide shutdown from December 1 to 3 if long‑pending demands are not met and privatisation moves are not withdrawn.

Joint Front leader Ravindra Ghanghas said in a letter to Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini that employees and engineers will strike if their demands remain unaddressed before December 1. He recalled that the earlier strike planned for August 11–13 was postponed after talks with Power Minister Vij on August 10, but no commitments were honoured.

The Front accused the government of failing to deliver efficiency after dismantling the State Electricity Board, while losses continue to mount. It opposed the proposed ‘Agro‑DISCOM’ for the farm sector and warned that any notification on privatisation or rollout of smart meters would trigger an indefinite strike.

The Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission is currently considering granting a parallel distribution licence to a private company in Gurugram and Nuh, a move the Front has vowed to resist.

V.K. Gupta, Media Advisor to the All India Power Engineers Federation (AIPEF), announced that a state‑level convention of farmers, workers, employees, engineers, and consumers will be held in Rohtak on October 17.
