BJP MP Sambit Patra on Wednesday launched a blistering offensive against Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, accusing him of playing politics over the twin bomb blasts in Jalandhar and Amritsar. Patra alleged that Mann’s statement blaming the BJP for the explosions was not his own but “dictated by Arvind Kejriwal,” whom he accused of siding with Pakistan’s ISI.
“The statement that BJP is responsible for the bomb blasts was given on the orders of Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal has stood in ISI and Pakistan’s defence. The people of Punjab and India will answer him,” Patra thundered, casting the AAP leadership as reckless and dangerous.
Patra further underscored his charge by reading out the statement of Punjab’s Director General of Police, which pointed towards Pakistan’s ISI as the likely hand behind the attacks. He reminded that the blasts coincided with the anniversary of ‘Operation Sindoor,’ suggesting that the timing bore the imprint of cross‑border terror planning rather than domestic political rivalry.
Framing the issue as one of national security, Patra accused the AAP government of trivializing terrorism by dragging the BJP into the narrative. “Instead of standing with the nation against terror, the AAP leadership is busy manufacturing conspiracies to deflect from its failures,” he said, warning that such rhetoric emboldens hostile forces across the border.
With this sharp intervention, Patra positioned the BJP as the defender of national interest while portraying Mann and Kejriwal as undermining India’s fight against terrorism. The clash adds yet another layer of intensity to Punjab’s already polarized political discourse, where allegations of conspiracy, governance failures, and security threats are colliding head‑on.
