Former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab and Member of Parliament Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party government over the non-availability of ration in Anganwadi centers for months and the distribution of biscuits and candies instead of nutritious food to young children. He stated that this incident exposes the hollow claims of the Punjab government. The foundation of the Aam Aadmi Party, built on lies and publicity, is crumbling rapidly.
He said that under the rule of a government that made grand claims about a better future and nutrition for children, porridge, khichdi, and panjiri have vanished from the plates of toddlers aged three to six, replaced by biscuits and candies. What could be a bigger example of administrative bankruptcy than this?
Targeting Manish Sisodia, Randhawa said that your government lacks the confidence to face the truth and instead harbors overconfidence in telling lies. Attempts are being made to suppress the truth by spending crores of rupees on advertisements, but the empty plates of the children are exposing every lie.
He added that if ration fails to reach even the most sensitive departments like Anganwadis for months, it is not merely negligence but clear proof of the government’s priorities. Instead of spending crores of rupees solely on publicity, the government should ensure the timely supply of essential ration for children’s nutrition.
The MP demanded that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann fix accountability for the delay in ration supply across all Anganwadis in Punjab, including 1,634 Anganwadis in Jalandhar. Action must be taken against the guilty officials, and it should be clarified who will take responsibility for playing with the nutrition of these children.
