Chandigarh, April 18
Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today said that the Aam Aadmi Party’s self proclaimed “clean image” stands completely tarnished with day to day revelations by people as to how they were forced to pay huge bribes to get routine work done.
Warring said, it is public knowledge that under this government, “everything comes at a price and there are fixed rates for every official work that should otherwise be done in normal routine”.
“That is the real ‘badlaav’ which the AAP has ushered in Punjab-“fixed rate” for everything, no bargaining, please, perfectly like in a fair price shop”, Warring remarked.
“The AAP has turned out to be the super-spreader of the corruption pandemic in Punjab”, Warring said in a statement while reacting to revelations made by Pulkit Sharma, a national level cricketer from Punjab as how he was forced to pay bribes for getting his land deal registered. Surprisingly, he added, Pulkit’s social media accounts have vanished from the virtual space mysteriously.
The PPCC president congratulated Pulkit for exposing the corruption. He said, there are tens of thousands of people with a similar experience who are forced to pay huge bribes of extortionist proportions to the officials. “What to say of punishing the guilty, they are being rewarded by this government”, he said, while referring to officials who were promoted recently even after having been suspended and charge-sheeted for corruption.
Warring predicted that as the countdown of the AAP government has started and more and more people are now coming out to expose the corruption that is taking place under its nose. He noted that people are openly saying that there are “fixed rates” for every official work that otherwise should be done as a matter of routine.
