Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched an attack on the Trinamool Congress while addressing a public rally in the Katwa Assembly constituency of West Bengal. He said, “Once a double engine government is formed, TMC goons will have no place to hide. They are worried about their future and have started looking for livelihood options.” Taking a jibe, CM Yogi said, some are thinking about where to open a puncture repair shop, while others are worried about saving their lives by becoming street sweepers. He said that Bengal was looted first by Congress, then by the Communists, and for the last 15 years by the Trinamool Congress. In Uttar Pradesh, the bulldozer crushed the mafias that were nurtured by Congress and SP.
Addressing the rally in support of BJP candidate Krishna Ghosh, the Chief Minister stated, “He offers his respectful salutations to the sacred land of Katwa, where Sanatan Goswami, a disciple of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and an important scholar of the Vaishnav tradition, took sanyas. Katwa is known for more than 108 temples such as Khepa Kali Temple, Ichhai Ghosh Temple, Gopeshwar Shiv Temple and Naya Kailash Temple.” He further added, “This is the land of India’s spiritual heritage, pride, sacrifice, courage and self respect. It is the land of India’s spirituality, patriotism, art and literature. This land has played an important role in giving direction to India’s spiritual, cultural and literary heritage. This is the same Bengal that gave identity to India and was once known as the cultural capital of the country.”
Yogi said that today, that same Bengal is struggling for its own identity. Industries are shutting down here, farmers are not getting fair prices for their produce, youth are not getting employment and government employees are not receiving full salaries. The law and order situation is worrying and hooliganism is at its peak. CM stated, the funds sent by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for development are being usurped by TMC goons. He said that people now have the opportunity to create a crisis of identity for those who have made Bengal struggle for its identity. Bengal must regain its prestige and move forward on the path of development.
Yogi said, he is surprised to see the condition of Bengal. Mamata didi has a problem with the slogan “Jai Shri Ram.” This is the same land where about 500 years ago Chaitanya Mahaprabhu spread the message of India’s Vaishnav tradition across the world through the chant of “Hare Krishna Hare Rama.” CM also stated, “On that very land, chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ leads to lathi charges on devotees and attacks on common people. Murders are happening openly. Sand and land mafias dominate, taking away employment opportunities from youth. Neither daughters are safe nor traders. Incidents of love jihad and land grabbing are coming to light. Obstacles are also created in the worship and processions of Maa Durga. Mamata didi says “Khela hobe,” but now it must be said ‘Khela shesh, unnayan shuru’ which means the game is over, development begins.
Chief Minister said, “Before 2017, the condition of Uttar Pradesh was also similar. Before festivals, there was an atmosphere of fear instead of celebrations. There were no employment opportunities for youth, farmers were committing suicide, riots and curfews were common and law and order was weak. Ram devotees were fired upon.” He added, “However after the formation of a double engine government in 2017, there has been a massive transformation in Uttar Pradesh. Now there is an atmosphere of celebration instead of unrest. There is no curfew and no chaos. Today, Uttar Pradesh has become the state with the highest number of expressways in the country. Open murders cannot take place there. No one can create disorder on the streets. If you visit Kashi, you will see a new grand Kashi, and in Ayodhya, a grand Ram Mandir has been constructed, which was once opposed by Congress, TMC, Communists and the Samajwadi Party.”
Comparing Bengal with Uttar Pradesh, CM Yogi said that his government has provided government jobs to about 9 lakh youth, including a large number of women. In addition, 60 lakh youth have been employed in large industries and more than three crore youth have found employment through MSME units. In contrast, under TMC rule, 30 lakh youth have become unemployed in Bengal and industries have shut down. Where there is an atmosphere of mafia and corruption, development is not possible and industries cannot be established. He said, “People participated enthusiastically in the first phase of voting in Bengal and trends indicate that change will be visible in the upcoming results. When the EVMs are opened, only lotus will be seen everywhere. With the formation of a double engine government, law and order will strengthen and the state will move forward on the path of development. Everyone has seen TMC’s hooliganism and how BJP leaders were attacked. Bengal has raised its voice against this chaos.”
CM Yogi stated, now in Bengal, the money sent by Prime Minister Modi will be directly spent on development works. No one will dare to take ‘cut money.’ TMC leaders have been MLAs multiple times, but they have only enriched their own families and ignored Katwa. They have no concern for development. Such people who practice family based politics do not focus on development and remain limited to their own and their family’s growth. He added, electing Krishna Ghosh as MLA from Katwa will mean complete elimination of the sand mafia. There will be no booth capturing. Traders will not be forced to pay ‘cut money,’ and funds meant for development will not be misused. A government that cannot provide security has no right to remain in power. A railway bridge will be constructed here and a new bridge will also be built over the Bhagirathi River.
