New Delhi, July 31
Indian Youth Congress president Uday Bhanu Chib while addressing a press conference today regarding a truck filled with stones found outside the Youth Congress office stated that on the July 20 at the time of ‘Parliament Gherao’—a truck, specifically a dumper filled with stones, was found outside the offices of the IYC and NSUI (the youth and student wings of the country’s opposition party).
“Initially, the truck was near Jantar Mantar, but by the afternoon, it was found outside the IYC office. Why was this the case? How did the truck end up there on that day? Was the police unaware? There were barricades everywhere, and the area was on high alert. How did the truck reach that spot? At whose behest did it arrive? Whose conspiracy was this? The question remains: how was that truck parked there on the day of the Parliament march, and at whose instance was this done? We ask with what intent a truck filled with stones was parked in front of the IYC office, especially given that this constitutes a major security lapse,”, he said.
Chib added that did the government want those stones to be used during the protest so that it could then launch a massive crackdown? “It is a massive security failure that a truck filled with stones was found outside the Youth Congress office on the 20th and remained there until the 25th! How is this possible? Surprisingly, government counsel stated in the High Court that the truck was linked to the protesters. Subsequently, on July 28, the Delhi Police tweeted that the truck had been seized following an accident.”
