Chandigarh, April 18
The Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee has officially announced its mayoral candidates for the upcoming Municipal Corporation elections in Ambala and Sonipat. It is noteworthy that the post of Mayor in Ambala Municipal Corporation is reserved for the BC (B) Women category, while the Sonipat Municipal Corporation seat falls under the General category.
Sharing this information, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) President Rao Narender Singh stated that Kulwinder Kaur (wife of Shri Kripal Singh Saini) has been declared the party’s official candidate for the Ambala Municipal Corporation. For the Sonipat Municipal Corporation, Kamal Dewan, President of the District Congress Committee (Urban), has been nominated as the party’s authorized candidate.
Singh further highlighted that Kamal Dewan belongs to a distinguished political family. His father, Late Devaraj Dewan, served as an MLA from Sonipat and was widely respected for his strong grassroots connect and lifelong dedication to public service. Similarly, Kulwinder Kaur comes from a well-regarded family in Ambala, known for its consistent contribution to the welfare and well-being of local residents. Expressing confidence, he stated that the Congress Party will contest these elections with full strength, organizational unity, and broad public support, and is well-positioned to secure victory across all seats.
Singh also informed that the party will soon announce its mayoral candidate for the Panchkula Municipal Corporation. The Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee has appealed to all party workers to actively participate in the election campaign with enthusiasm, dedication, and a strong sense of commitment to ensure the party’s success.
